Our Structure

Dementia Friendly Lehigh Valley is led by a Steering Committee which ensures that the mission, visions, and goals of DFLV are achieved.

The work taking place in the community to achieve our goals is led by volunteers participating in Work Groups.  Each Work Group has co-chair leads and takes responsibility for a specific focus area and initiatives.  Our current Work Groups are:

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

Provide education to promote greater awareness and enhance skills for working with people living with dementia among professionals engaged in healthcare, emergency services, social services, and faith communities.

AWARENESS/MARKETING

Disseminates information, education, and resources to the public via newsletters, social media, website, and community media outlets to raise awareness about dementia and the work of DFLV.

GOVERNMENT RELATIONS

Informs and educates local, state, and federal government representatives about DFLV and the dementia friendly community movement, and advocates for policy, legislation, resources, and broad engagement in support of people living with dementia and their care partners.

COMMUNITY EDUCATION

Educates people across the community to recognize, understand, and support people living with dementia.  The education encourages people from every part of our community and all backgrounds to become more welcoming, inclusive and engaging to those living with dementia and their care partners.
